APPLYING for your first job is tough and early years students from Duchy College Stoke Climsland have been getting some practice by taking part in mock interviews.
However, while her classmates prepared for mock interviews, one student was preparing to go through the real thing.
Amy Callaghan, who lives in Launceston, was among a group of students tasked with applying for fictitious nursery assistant or nursery nurse posts as part of the employability element of their course. This involved creating a CV, writing a letter of application and completing an application form.
Local nursery manager Sarah Dawson, from Ducklings Pre-School in Stoke Climsland, was on the shortlisting panel which selected seven students for the two posts and conducted interviews.
The successful students were Michelle Gilbert, from Pensilva, and Alice Cox, from Bude, and all of the students were given feedback on their interview technique and tips on ways they could improve.
