Among matters discussed at this month's meeting of Amroth Community Council were the following:

Outstanding issues to be addressed

Road sinking on Amroth Hill by the 30mph signs: Welsh Water had been out and had checked the pipes for defects. They had requested further information about how many times the surface had dropped and been re-tarmaced. Clerk to send a letter referring to the road being repaired approximately six times over about five years.

Footpath SP1/12 North of Mill Hill cottages, Stepaside: Stile was missing and handrail broken. Sean Tilling at PCC had passed it to 'heavyside' repair.

Cliff falling sign between Templebar and Wiseman's Bridge: Clr. Harries had spoken to Mr. Williams (sea defences) who had informed him it will be actioned.

Section of road between Pen y Bryn and The Mill: The stones represented a hazard to vehicles. PCC would arrange for them to be removed and a row of reflective verge markers to be placed along the edge of the carriageway as a warning.

New councillor vacancy: One application had been received. The application was read out to the council by the clerk. It was agreed to invite the applicant to the next meeting to be co-opted onto the council. Clerk to send a letter.

Back Lane at Summerhill: A large gate had been cut into the hedge on the dangerous corner by Corner Cottage. Clerk had requested a PCC enforcement officer to have a look. The concern was that a lot of trees had been cut down.

A planning officer from PCNPA had been out to see the development at Channel View, Summerhill. Their response was that the building was in keeping with the agreed planning permission, but that general concerns over planning would be brought to the attention of the development control manager and the site would be monitored. A response from Amroth Community Council regarding the planning and the subsequent build, along with photos showing evidence of planning deviation, would be submitted by the clerk.

County Councillor Brinsden's report

He had recently attended PCC's AGM. He now sits on (and therefore has responsibility for) planning. Councillors congratulated Clr. Brinsden on being elected as vice-chair of PCC and Clr. J. James congratulated Clr. Brinsden on behalf of the residents of the Crunwere ward.

Amroth and District Community Association

Peter Karrie was a sellout and a great success! A full capacity of guests, 120, enjoyed a superb evening of entertainment. The money raised, nearly £500, was donated to the Harriet Davis Trust. Film nights continue to be a great success, with £177 raised from the last one being given to the Motor Neurone charity.

Planning

Rock Cottage, Amroth - alterations to elevation, balcony, rear extension, decking and bin store (approved); Wood Hatch, Summerhill - single-storey extension (no objection); 20 Waters Edge, Amroth - particulars of a non- material planning amendment. A reduction in the principle elevation of dwelling from 8.06m down to 7.20m: alteration to fenestration on the principle elevation, inclusion of a white PVCu roof lantern; Waters Edge, Amroth - single-story extension (approved).

Correspondence

A resignation letter had been received from Clr. Hayes. Clerk to send a letter of thanks and to advertise the new vacancy

Request for better signage for beach dog prohibition - clerk had contacted Julie Townsend, PCC leisure.

Email from Clr. Hayes regarding development at Old Amroth Road. Clr. Brinsden would contact an enforcement officer to have a look at the development.
