A FUN filled Ladies Night was held at Rydon Inn, Holsworthy, on Saturday, June 18, and managed to raise an impressive sum for the charity Tamba supporting TTTS.
Ladies Night was a fun filled evening with Prosecco on arrival. There were also massage tables and manicures for a small donation, along with craft stalls and prizes. There was an amazing turnout, with queues out the door. Overall it was said to be a perfect ladies night out.
Sophie Prouse said: “We raised £2,120 which was beyond our expectations.”
The money will go to Tamba, Twins and Multiple Births Association, supporting TTTS.
Twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) occurs when there are too many blood connections in one direction, causing an unequal flow of blood between the twins.
When this happens, one twin may receive too much blood and become overloaded with fluid, putting strain on the heart. This leads to the other twin getting crushed against the wall of the uterus whilst receiving not enough blood to help the baby grow. If left untreated, the babies are at very high risk of losing their lives.
Thanks were expressed to all the businesses and stalls who gave a raffle prize. To everyone else that contributed to the raffle and auction prizes, there were some amazing contributions.
Further thanks were given to Andrew Axford for hosting the auction.
Vicky and Matt Endacott, supporters of the charity, who lost their twins to TTTS, said they would like to make a special thanks to Nicola Howard for organising the event and Sophie Prouse for helping and hosting the event at The Rydon Inn.
They added: “It means so much to us, all this money will go towards research to help with future procedures with women suffering from TTTS in identical twin pregnancies.”
