AS THE winter nights drew in last year, LADS (Launceston Amateur Dramatic Society) rehearsals started for the production of Calendar Girls.
The idea of a 2013 calendar to raise funds for local charity was born and featured members of the cast in the same true tradition of the original WI calendar.
Spokesperson for LADS Fred Parker said: "We set out to produce a high quality calendar with the aim of supporting two local charities the Children's Hospice South West and Macmillan Care (Mustard Tree).
"We have raised £1,000 from the sale of the calendars and tonight we are presenting cheques to the chosen charities."
