FOR the Altarnun Local History Society meeting on March 22, members received a talk by Peter Herring, who had previously given the group three talks based on the history of Bodmin Moor from prehistoric times up to the medieval era.
The group decided to invite members of other local historical groups along to hear this fourth and final talk in the series as many of them also knew Peter.
The society was delighted that on the night they had 20 of their own members plus a further 22 visitors, so the hall was full of eager listeners for the presentation.
The chairman, Eddie Bailey, welcomed everyone to the meeting, and members approved the minutes of their last monthly meeting, and covered matters arising.
The treasurer confirmed finances were in good order having made a contribution to the restoration of two portraits for the village hall, and agreed to provide a prize trophy for one of the classes in the village horticultural show later in the year.
