A CELEBRATION to mark the renovation of Charles Causley's house, Cyprus Well, was held at Launceston Town Hall on Monday. Members of the Charles Causley Trust and their patron, former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion, were joined by a large number of guests to hear more about the official launch of the house as a centre for a poet in residence project. Earlier in the day, the official opening of Cyprus Well took place, with Sir Andrew cutting the ribbon. At the town hall, guests mingled and shared their own memories of Causley. David Fryer, secretary of the Charles Causley Trust, introduced speakers, who explained their involvement in the project. Kent Stanton, a founder trustee, has overseen the renovation of the house. He said the renovation had been a superb effort and spoke of the 'dedication, devotion and total commitment' of a number of people who helped make Causley's vision a reality.
