THE children of Kingfisher Nursery, Boyton, recently visited the Tesco store at Launceston and had a wonderful morning with community champion Shelley Vanstone.
During this term the children have been using the story of ‘Farmer Duck’ to pursue their interests in the local farming community, which has included cooking using milk, eggs and apples.
During their visit to the store the children made bread rolls, tasted cheese, visited the fish counter and the warehouse (including the fridge!). After a delicious snack, comprising many fruit and vegetables, the children went on a colour hunt within the fruit and vegetable aisles, using the scales to weigh and price what they had found.
Kingfisher Nursery expressed thanks to Shelley and the Launceston store for their continued support both when visiting, but also as they generously donate to fundraising events such as the forthcoming Christmas bingo in November.
