St Peter's Fair celebrations are well underway in Holsworthy this week.
A week of traditions and entertainment kicked off on Saturday with entertainment from tribute band 1DX, followed by more music on Sunday from Company B.
The annual town crier competition took place in the town square on Sunday as part of the St Peter's Fair family fete afternoon. Five children from the area took part by reading a proclamation which congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their daughter Charlotte, and promised the loyalty of the citizens of Holsworthy in upholding the Queen's laws.
The competition was very close, but the eventual winner was nine-year-old Blake Chapland from St Margaret's Junior School in Northam.
A comical yearly round-up of the town's events were given at the Court Leet on Tuesday evening, followed by the revealing of this year's Pretty Maid yesterday (Wednesday) at noon on St Peter's Fair Day and a themed market in the town square. A photographic display celebrating 25 years of Holsworthy Youth Football is on display at Holsworthy Chapel, meanwhile an exhibition 'A Celebration of the Church's Year' at Holsworthy Church.
