A CAR came off St Thomas Road in Launceston, rolled a few times, then skidded down the hill into the valley on Monday.
The incident occurred at around 1.30pm.
A Ford Fiesta rolled down the hill, skidded and came to rest in the ditch at the bottom of the bank.
There were three people in the car at the time of the incident, including one young girl believed to be aged between six and seven years old — all came away with no serious injuries and were checked over by ambulance crews as a precaution.
The police said that the female driver was later taken to hospital but her injuries were not believed to be serious.
The other occupants were classed as walking wounded. The young girl suffered a minor facial injury and the second passenger also suffered a minor injury. The vehicle was registered to Launceston.
Phil Nelson, bronze commander/incident officer for the ambulance service, told the Post: “We brought in the air ambulance just in case something more sinister had happened, luckily the casualties did not sustain serious enough injuries to warrant flying them to hospital so we won’t be using them.
“We also called in three land ambulances but will only be using two of those whilst the casualties are assessed.
“This incident could have been a lot more severe if they had for example rolled from the top to the bottom — they were lucky the car landed on its wheels and skidded, they could have sustained much more severe injuries if not.”
