RESIDENTS of Tintagel took the opportunity to view plans for a mixture of 24 shared-ownership and rental homes at Mandalay Farm in the village's Social Hall on Thursday, December 15.
Representatives of the Westward Housing Group, which is based in Torbay, were in attendance, as were Cornwall Councillors for the area, to discuss potential issues arising from the proposals.
A spokesperson for Westward Housing Group said that owing to its rural exception site status, the development would be primarily for people with a local connection to Tintagel, and there would be a strict criteria to meet for all applicants to rented properties.
"I hope this reassures against any concerns regarding city people moving in without local jobs," she added. "The development aims to provide much needed housing for those local people in such great need."
Some residents in attendance expressed concerns about the site entrance, amid fears it could be dangerous for school children who walk nearby.
