THE Blagdon Manor resturant and hotel near Ashwater has received national recognition for the quality of its ‘dog friendly’ accommodation.

Owned by Elizabeth and Steve Morey, the hotel is situated within 20 acres and has been welcoming dog owners across the country for 15 years.

The hotel has been awarded a ‘certificate of excellence’ from its many positive reviews on Trip Advisor and was named as one of the top ten dog friendly hotels in the UK by the Independent and London Evening Standard.

It has also been announced as the winner of the ‘Good Hotel Guide editor’s Choice 2016 awards for Dog-Friendly Hotels’.

Elizabeth and Steve know all too well the struggles of finding a holiday suitable for pets — they own three dogs themselves.

Elizabeth said: “Cassia, Mace and Saffron are our resident chocolate Labradors. They are part of our family and we love doing a job that allows them to be involved.

“Nine million people in the country own a dog and not everyone wants to put them into kennels during their holiday, so we decided to put facilities in place for both guests and their beloved dogs.”

“We’re thrilled to be placed in the top 10 dog friendly hotels in the UK; we do everything possible to make sure our customers and their pets have a great stay and we’re delighted to receive such a tremendous response.”
