RESIDENTS in North Cornwall have heard about the next steps for plans to upgrade the A30 at Temple to dual carriageway.

The Planning Inspectorate, which is examining plans put forward by Cornwall Council, held a preliminary meeting last Thursday at Carew House in Bodmin to discuss the process for the development and how local people can have their say on the plans.

Liberal Democrats say the meeting is the next step forward in the long campaign to get the stretch of road upgraded.

The party's Cornwall Councillor for the Lanivet and Blisland division, Chris Batters, who was at the meeting, said: "I am glad that the Planning Inspectorate has allowed the application to go forward to the next stage, and are making sure that people can have their say on the plans."
