POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on the A30 near the Launceston junction on Sunday, November 27.
The incident is thought to have occurred sometime between 9.25pm and 9.30pm. A 56-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by what police suspect was a man in his late 20s, early 30s.
The incident happened after the man flashed his headlights at the car ahead of him to warn them about their driving in a speed restricted area.
The driver in front stopped his vehicle, got out of the car and approached the man before verbally threatening him. He then allegedly grabbed the 56-year-old man and began punching him in the shoulder — causing injuries.
Further threats were made before the man walked back to his car and ripped off his own number plate.
The suspect was driving a white hatchback, possibly a Vauxhall, and is described as being a white man of medium build, who was wearing a light coloured polo jumper, with 50s styled horn rimmed sunglasses.
If anyone was held up in a short, stationery queue near the area or witnessed the incident they are asked to contact police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting reference CR/084053/16
