THERE were monkeys and Marios on motorbikes dashing through woods and wading through rivers at the end of December, for Holsworthy Motor Club's charity bike trial.
More than 70 people took part in the trial, many in various fancy dress costumes and some as young as 10-years-old. The event, held at Ivyleaf Woods near Stratton, raised £213 for North Devon Chemotherapy Unit Appeal.
Winners: fancy dress — Matt Tilley, as Super Mario; overall winner —Tom Hooper; trail bike class, yellow route — Ollie Coppelstone, blue route — Kurt Bence and James Bright (joint winners); under 13s winner — Dylan Dennis; under 16s winner — Tom Hooper; expert winner — Mick Thompson; intermediate winner — Martin Thompson and Simon Thornhill (joint); novice winner — Veron Bright; Pre65/Twin Shock — John Lucket and overall winner —Tom Hooper.
