STUDENTS from Launceston, Okehampton and Callington are among those at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, to have scooped an award as part of a national business competition in which they sold locally produced cakes made from fruit and vegetables, all in aid of the Somerset Flood Relief Fund. The group of students, who are studying the National Diploma BTEC Business studies course, were taking part in the 'Tenner Challenge', a national competition run by the Young Enterprise scheme to find the next entrepreneur. Their challenge was to make as much money as possible from £10. Calling themselves the 'Duchy Dragons', the team set up a stall at Duchy College, selling low calorie, gluten and dairy-free cakes, including aubergine and raw chocolate torte and beetroot chocolate brownies. For the full report, and a round-up of the local news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
