CREAM teas and home-made cakes were enjoyed in the beautiful gardens of Helland Bridge Pottery, at the recent open day. Organisers Rosie and Paul Jackson held the open gardens event for British Red Cross, since it is 150 years since Henry Dunant founded the Red Cross movement and its participation in the first world war. Cream teas and donated home-made cakes, were in plentiful supply and a variety of stalls: Barbara Norman's plants, Emily Nott's jewellery and Guy representing the Wildlife Trust, together with a chance to see Paul Jackson's pottery. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
