TOWN mayor Lea Deely was pleased to share the news to fellow councillors that she received a special trolley token from Lidl when she opened the new store in Bude last month — but she also highlighted the bad parking that is going on due to the ‘insufficient’ car park.

Speaking at Bude-Stratton Town Council’s full meeting at the Parkhouse Centre last Thursday, Cllr Deely listed the events she had attended as mayor throughout November and said she was delighted to open the new store and received the trolley token in return.

She added that she received an email from Lidl asking if she had been given any feedback regarding the store. She told councillors she responded by saying that a majority of the feedback had been very positive about the store itself, but there had been concerns raised about the ‘insufficient’ car park, with a lack of road markings, and people parking on the roadsides, making it difficult for other road users.
