HIGH tea and harmony were on the menu at the Arscott Hall, Tetcott, on Sunday week. Each table was laden with a variety of savouries and fancy cakes and the male members of the hall committee waited at the tables.
The Arscott Ladies provided the harmony with a variety of songs, ranging from John Rutter’s ‘For the beauty of the earth’ to well known songs from the shows and the Rugby World Cup theme, ‘World in Union’. They ended their programme with a ‘Sentimental Journey’ and songs from the war years to remember all who had lost their lives and to celebrate the ending of the Second World War 70 years ago.
The choir’s musical director, Ingrid Bray, introduced the programme, which was accompanied by Myrtle Rooke. Chairman of the hall committee Kevin Mitchell gave the vote of thanks.
The Arscott Ladies have had a busy year and have four more appointments before the end of December, the last being the annual ‘Carols by Candlelight’ at the Arscott Hall on December 20.
