IT WAS a significant date for the Camelford branch of HeartSWell last Thursday — their fundraising efforts reached £150,000 for the charity.
HeartSWell is a heart charity that provides help and support for cardiac sufferers and their carers in the South West.
A cheque for more than £1,000 was presented to Clem Spencer, chairman of HeartSWell by the Camelford chairman, Sid Goodman, at Bowood, Camelford.
Since 1992, the committee has organised many fundraising events, which have been supported by people in the North Cornwall area.
Recently, it was decided to spend the money raised on equipment in local surgeries so that the supporters, especially those with heart problems, would benefit.
