MEMBERS and friends of a Methodist chapel have celebrated the 100th anniversary of its Sunday School. At the start of the morning service of Tremail Methodist Church on June 21 a special 100th anniversary cake, which had been baked and decorated by Mrs Clair Cornelius, was cut by two former scholars, Mrs Betty Yeo and Mr Raymond Sleep. The preacher at the morning service was Trevor Sillifant from Bradworthy and lessons were read by Isabel Heal and Jeremy Heard. Cousins Stephanie and Kelly Cornelius sang three duets beautifully. Memories of Being a Scholar, written by David Keast, was read. All taking part had previously attended the Sunday School. Mrs Sillifant passed on some thought provoking remarks to a good congregation. After the service, tea and pieces of celebration cake were served.
