FIFTY-EIGHT Launceston College students took part in a ‘Bumper Book Quiz’ World Book Day Guinness World Record attempt on February 22.

They answered a series of questions on books and their contents, witnessed by four independent people.

This was happening simultaneously all over the country.

The college was pleased to announce World Book Day is now officially a Guinness World Records title holder and the college was part of that.

A college spokesperson said: “With the students’ help, we smashed the Guinness World Records title for ‘the most people taking part in simultaneous quizzes at multiple venues’.

“A whopping 6,388 people took part, more than doubling the existing record.

“Congratulations everybody!”
