Holsworthy and District Lions were crowned south west quiz champions after a closely fought match on Tuesday, February 23.

The competition was open to all 60 clubs in the south west district, which stretches from Portishead to Penzance.

After beating Exeter West in the semi-final, Holsworthy took on Roche in the final at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston.

Holsworthy eventually triumphed in a very close contest, winning by 83 points to 78.

The team consisted of captain John Cottle, Ray Vanstone, David Smith, Steve Davis, Robin Mitchell and Andy Townsend.

Holsworthy Lions will attempt to pull off an impressive double this Wednesday when they compete in the final of the south west skittles competition on March 2.
