WE WERE intrigued to attend the Bude Youth Theatre's recent production of 'The Pool of Dreams' at Budehaven School, writes Rowena Hoseason, of Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP).

It's an ambitious and rewarding production; challenging for its youthful cast and immensely satisfying for the audience. The narrative takes the shape of a full-length play with songs and dance which weaves local memories and an evocative, romantic story around the factual history of Bude's iconic tidal swimming pool.

The cast of 34 actors, aged eight to 17, was drawn from eight local schools with many of the young people playing multiple roles in different eras.
