HANDBELL ringers and the Junior Band at St Breward presented a fabulous festive feast of music at the village chapel carol service.
The congregation had an enjoyable time singing favourite carols and listening to musical items.
St Breward Handbell Ringers played several festive pieces and it was a joy to listen to them, especially as they were performing for the first time using their recently purchased new handbells — G sharp and C sharp, from Whitechapel Bell Foundry — with the assistance of a grant from the Cornwall Community Foundation.
St Breward Junior Band entertained with a variety of music, including solos.
Chapel member Muriel Wilton said afterwards: “We congratulate the young people for taking the time and commitment to practice and be a valued part of the band. We all enjoyed their contribution.”
A collection of £80 was taken for Action For Children, a charity that helps the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people in the UK.
The afternoon was rounded off with a festive tea, prepared and served by the chapel ladies. Thanks were expressed to all.
