BUDE Town Band has introduced its new generation of musicians and performers.

On Sunday, August 12, the town band introduced its new generation at their afternoon concert on the bandstand, in the form of its new training band. This concert was the first public performance for the training band.

The six youngsters, aged between nine and 15, have all been taught to play by the band’s musical director Myra Inch. The group of six have all been learning individually with Myra, but as a group they have only been playing together for a month.

The training band is not just for children — the band welcomes people of any age. Anyone interested in joining the band, whether they already play or would like to learn to play an instrument, are most welcome — experienced or not. Come and have a chat, meet the band and find out how a band performs.

Bude Town Band’s rehearsal nights take place on Fridays from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. It offers free tuition, instruments and uniforms. The band can be found at Bude Town Band Hall, Lynstone Road, Bude, EX23 8LW.
