SAYING a fond farewell to the Army Cadet Force after six and a half years of service was Sergeant James Britt at a recent training session of the Holsworthy detachment.

Young recruits also enjoyed a field craft training session ahead of the farewell to James.

Once a fresh faced recruit, James has developed into a much-respected senior NCO (young leader) and role model.

His achievements include Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Cadet Vocational Qualification in Public Services, which equates to four GCSEs, a First Aid certification and the Senior 4 Star Army Proficiency Certificate badge.

James has attended many camps and undertaken expeditions and challenging military training.

James received a memory book from the Holsworthy Detachment Devon Army Cadet Force, which was a custom made photo album featuring pictures from throughout his cadet career and detailing many of his achievements from Detachment Commander 2Lt Jim Harvey, who said: “It has been great to see Serjeant James Britt develop so successfully in personality, maturity and capability during his time as an Army Cadet and all at Holsworthy ACF wish him the best for the future.”

Holsworthy ACF is now recruiting and young people from 12 years of age who think they might enjoy the ACF life can try out for four weeks free.
