THE old saying that it always rains on Camelford Carnival night did not come true on Saturday, as the town hosted its Halloween Carnival.

The day got underway with the crowning of this year's carnival senior and fairy queens — Somer and Chloe Miles — and the Queen of Queens competition at Camelford Hall.

At 7pm, the procession got underway, and Jo Olde, the landlady of The Masons Arms led the procession on her horse — this year, dressed as the Headless Henchman!

Although the number of floats didn't appear as high as in previous years, the walking entries were very strong.

As always, much time and effort went into the costumes and floats, and a good evening was had by all involved.
