A charity prom was held at The Falcon Hotel in Bude on Saturday, April 24 in aid of Cancer Research UK. Jo Heaven, proprietor of Heavenly Hair in Holsworthy, organised the event and held a

similar one two years ago. Jo holds the charity events in memory of her mum who died of cancer five years ago after a

16-year fight. The famous band from the Jonathan Ross show '4 Poofs and a Piano' featured on the night and an auction was held. Jo said: "It was very very good and we have hopefully raised £1,200 which is good considering we were down on

numbers. A lovely evening was had by all and the boys went down very well, again." Jo has expressed her thanks to everyone who went to the ball and those that supported. Jo said that they are going to hold another in two years' time and organising the event is already underway.
