THE Camelford Women’s Institute and Crowlas and Ludgvan WI have been twinned since 2004 and each year they take it in turns to host a trip.
It’s a great way to meet up with friends and make new ones too.
This year was Camelford’s turn to head down to Falmouth where a lovely day had been planned by the kind ladies of the Crowlas and Ludgvan WI.
Members met at the Princess Pavilions and had coffee outside in the glorious sunshine, with the view of the beautiful bandstand and its flower beds, which were being planted up as the WI groups watched.
The head gardener gave a short but very interesting history of the house and its gardens.
After a tour of the Gyllyngdune gardens, with its shell grottos and amazing varieties of plants, everyone walked down to the maritime museum, the ‘Titanic Exhibition’ was very interesting.
Members then enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Rick Stein’s and topped the afternoon off with ice cream in the Square.
Camelford WI look forward to next year when its their turn to host.
