A BOY from St Breward, who survived meningitis as a four-year-old, had his hair shaved and raised well over £1,100 for a charity researching into the disease.

Sebastian Vanderplank, now 10, and his family have been actively raising funds for the Meningitis Now charity.

His latest effort meant he had to grow his hair over the past 12 months, to culminate in a massively well-supported head shave and coffee morning that took place in his home village.

Sebastian's mother, a grateful and pleased Rebecca Rose, said: "We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to the coffee morning."
