A WACKY hair day and charity head shave at Tesco Launceston on Saturday has helped to raise around £10-million for Diabetes UK — the charity is Tesco's charity partner this year, and all stores have been taking part in various fundraisers.
At Launceston, staff member Lisa Hedges bravely volunteered to have her head shaved. Although she was nervous on the day, she said: "I was happy to put myself forward as the charity needs the money more than I need my hair! I am delighted that we have so far raised £950 and money is still coming in."
Qualified hairdresser and Tesco colleague Marilyn Martin carried out the head shave.
