THE Launceston sector police team executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant in Bude on Monday, February 17, in an attempt to ‘further protect young people vulnerable to drugs exploitation’.
A Launceston Neighbourhood Team spokesperson said: “Police executed a warrant at an address in Bude on Monday, February 17, under the Misuse of Drugs Act as part of their ongoing crackdown on drug dealing in Cornwall. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Operation Minivan involves partner agencies working together in an ongoing safeguarding enquiry. It was set up to detect and disrupt an identified drugs network which targets young people in the Bude and Launceston areas.
Informing the public on social media of Operation Minivan’s intentions, Launceston Police said: “The message is clear to those choosing to involve teenagers in their drug dealings — it may be you we visit next and we don’t often knock!”
If anyone has any information regarding young people involved in drug activity, they are asked to contact the police through 101 or email [email protected], quoting Op Minivan.
Police said the information provided will be kept strictly confidential.
