A serious assault took place in Camelford over the bank holiday weekend.

Police were called at around 9.40pm on Saturday, May 25 following reports of a stabbing in Market Place.

Unarmed and armed units attended the location and a 38-year-old male was located with stab wounds to the chest.

This male was transported to Derriford hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.

As a result, a 45-year-old male has been helping police with their enquiries.

Police would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area or passing through Camelford at about 21.30pm on Saturday, May 25, who may have witnessed the incident to call 101 quoting log number 1009 250219.
