FIREFIGHTERS were called after a fire broke out at a scrapyard in Under Lane, Launceston this morning (Tuesday).
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was alerted shortly after 6am, to an industrial building on fire, at Sunnyside.
At 6.34am the attending crew requested to make pumpsfour as the building was well alight. The Critical Control Centre immediately mobilised two additional appliances, one from Callington and another from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue in Holsworthy. A water carrier from Liskeard, incident command unit from St Just and an operational support vehicle from Falmouth were also mobilised.
Firefighters have requested support from colleagues at Devon and Cornwall Police to close Under Lane, to allow access for emergency services vehicles.
Police said they were made aware of the incident at 7.34am, and said there was nothing on their log to suggest any persons were involved or hurt.
Further details were expected from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service as the Post went to press on Tuesday.
