DAMAGE has been caused to a bin at the skatepark, Holsworthy, potentially giving pause for thought for the future of the town council’s planned improvements.

The damage occurred between 4pm on Friday, June 18, and 10am on June 21. A town council spokesperson confirmed the incident had been reported to the police, adding: “This is the second incident of recent damage at the Skateboard Park.”

The town’s skatepark improvement scheme had been spearheaded by town councillor Nigel Keneally. He informed residents of the damage via Facebook: “To the person who had a fight with the bin up at the skatepark: I know bins can be intimidating, threatening and full of muck, but was there any need to beat them up so bad that they are now essentially useless?

“Also Holsworthy Town Council are currently looking at adding to the facilities up at the skatepark, actions like this however, definitely give pause for thought.”
