POLICE are appealing for information in regards to damage caused to the new bird hide in Enfield Park, which honours the memory of local wildlife enthusiast Andy Bond.

Camelford Neighbourhood Policing Team have expressed their disappointment in hearing about the damage to the bird hide, which is thought to have occurred some time on Saturday, August 3.

The bird hide was unveiled just a few months ago by Camelford Town Council, along with members of Andy’s family, as a commemoration to the local wildlife enthusiast.

Andy, who was well known in the town, and beyond, would spend much of his spare time recording the different species of wildlife in the park and reporting back to the community via community Facebook page, ‘lovecamelford’.

He also led a number of bird watching walks around Enfield Park.

A Camelford Police spokesperson said: “Please can we ask that anyone with any information about this incident gets in contact with us by telephone on 101 or by email on [email protected] (quoting crime reference number CR/070622/19).”
