TWENTY four watchkeepers from Boscastle Coast Watch, their partners and guests, as well as some former members, gathered at the Camelot Hotel, Tintagel, on February 21 for their annual dinner to celebrate the 17 years since the station opened.

Radio Cornwall presenter, Laurence Reed, a former Boscastle resident, who was also present at the station’s opening, was on hand to present the long service awards.

Recognised for some 85 years of shared experience were Jane Maunder and Martin Wilson, 15 years; Ian Osborne, Roger Dawkins and Tim Bagnall, ten years; and Diane Thompson, Bob Thompson, Ros Thomas, Colin Dredge and Trevor Lloyd, five years.

Altogether, Boscastle can boast 14 people with at least five years’ service, six with more than ten years, and three with more than 15 out of a current muster of 42, including four trainees.
