Mrs Pat Peck, a resident at Beaumont Court Residential Home, North Petherwin, celebrated her 100th birthday on Tuesday. Mrs Peck was born in 1909 at Aldershot, Hampshire. Her father was a serving officer in the Royal Horse Artillery and Mrs Peck's family moved to India when her father was posted there during the First World War. When they returned to England her father ran a pub in Essex. During World War Two Mrs Peck was the manageress of one of the Lyons Corner Houses and she received a special commendation for keeping it open during the VE Day celebrations. Mrs Peck later moved with her husband Charles to Tintagel where they stayed until he passed away. She has spent the last two years at Beaumont Court where she still enjoys the wonderful views of the Cornish countryside. Mrs Peck celebrated her birthday with family and friends.
