CHILDREN, staff, friends and family united to celebrate Tintagel Primary School's 100th anniversary. A barbecue and picnic was laid on in the school playground last week and children gave entertaining plays and performances during the day. The school has doubled in size since it was built in 1914, with a number of extensions over the years. The main part of the old school now has two classrooms and an ICT suite. Old photographs and items from 100 years ago, including registers and logbooks, were laid out for all to see. David Cook, chair of governors, a former pupil of the school and whose children and grandchildren also went to the school, took staff and children down memory lane with a talk.
