CORNISH All Blacks will return to action on Saturday with a friendly at old rivals Redruth, with a 4.30pm kick-off.

It is the first of two matches planned between the two sides, with the return fixture at Polson Bridge on Friday, May 28.

It is a chance for the players to blow away a few cobwebs before the summer break after 14 months without any competitive action.

But it will also provide the opportunity for the two clubs to bring in some much-needed income, with supporters now allowed back into grounds. The gates to the Recreation Ground open at 3pm and refreshments will be available.

But just a warning to those planning to go to the game if the weather is bad, as the roof is currently off the main stand while work takes place.

Launceston chairman Andrew Crichton told the Cornish and Devon Post: “We will be playing Redruth twice under the adapted rules, no there will be no scrums and no mauls.

“But just for the boys to have a run-out and have a bit of contact will be good, and supporters can also come to watch, up to a certain limit, but we should be fine.”
