The first Walking Football friendly fixture was held in Ross on Thursday, June 25th at Ross Sports Club. The match pitted Ross-on-Wye players against Hereford, who won 4-1.

The two teams met on a warm, sunny evening. Ross played in red bibs, and Hereford played in white.

Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle irrespective of their age, as well as providing oppotunities for people to get back into playing football who perhaps had to stop due to injuries.

Ron Goulding runs the Ross walking football club. He has done so for just over a year, after he saw another team playing it on the television.
