THE tent was full of entries and excitement as the Young Farmers Club (YFC) opened their doors to the show goers on Thursday.

Members tested their skills in their cookery, floristry and sheaf pitching in and around the marquee.

An exciting new event this year was the four-man sack race, which the YFC organised in the main ring with teams from Penbode Vets, Castle Veterinary Group, Launceston Chamber of Commerce and a presidents’ team taking on the YFC.

As the crowd cheered on, it was Penbode Vets who came out on top.

To finish the day, the president invited current and former members of Launceston Young Farmers to sing in the member’s bar.

The guests were delighted as the YFC congregated to sing their harmonies to round off a very successful Launceston Agricultural Show.
