AS PART of the curriculum, Class 4 at Halwill Primary School has been learning about the Victorians.

They held a ‘Victorian Day’ where the children and staff dressed up and had Victorian style lessons — including discipline, nail inspections and standing when an adult enters the room.

Desks were in rows with boys at the back and girls sitting at the front.

Lessons included writing words on slate, learning proverbs, learning about the British Empire and a science lesson on the potato.

Outside they had drill (PE) and playtime games. The children had a fun and also educational day.
