STRATTON Primary School’s Year 5 class set themselves a challenge to see how far a Facebook post could reach.
The class was guided by their teaching assistant, and the school’s e-safety coordinator, Louisa Collidge, in the experiment, which aimed to show the pupils how quickly and how far comments and pictures can spread through social media.

Since first posting the message on Facebook on Tuesday, January 24, Year 5 has had a massive response.
Within 24 hours, the post had reached 250,000 people in over 12 countries.
The current figures stand at around 7,500 shares and 2,500 comments, which is still growing every day!
Some of the countries the pupils have reached include Australia, America, France, Jamaica, Portugal, Sweden and Thailand — to name just a few!
Louise told the Post: “The children are really interested to see how far the post travels and have been mapping its progress.
“We think it has been a brilliant experiment that the children will learn lots from. We have been overwhelmed with the response we have received.”
