WEST and East Putford Primary School is to close from July 15 due to falling student numbers over the past few years.
The school is closing in July to enable the seven children on roll to transfer to their new schools before the end of the term.
The school has the capacity for 52 pupils, but has been operating with a high number of surplus places for a some years, a situation that was not though to improve.
Devon County Council decided to close the school in the interest of the children so that pupils receive the best possible education and learning opportunities.
Following the council's decision, a public consultation was held in October last year to discern the best course of action and which schools would be able to accept the remaining pupils of West and East Putford.
