GOVERNORS and staff at Delabole Community Primary School have pledged to work together to raise standards and address a number of issues identified in a report from Government Inspectors following a recent inspection of the primary school.

The report highlights a number of positive achievements, including the progress made by pupils in the Reception and Year 1 class. 'Attainment at the end of Key Stage 1 has been rising for the past three years, and is above average.'

However, while the Inspectors recognise the work of the new executive headteacher in drawing up a clear plan for making improvements, they express concerns over some aspects of leadership and management, the quality of some teaching and the progress made by pupils, and some aspects of their behaviour.
