CHUDLEIGH is looking into the possibility of joining four other rural towns by having a peripatetic town centre manager.

If the project comes to fruition, the full-time five-days-a-week manager would work between Ashburton, Bovey Tracey, Buckfastleigh, Chudleigh and Moretonhampstead.

At Monday's Chudleigh Town Council meeting members gave their blessing in principle, but first they are waiting to see if Teignbridge Council is successful in a funding bid for the project, and if so, want to invite a district authority officer to explain the ins and outs fully.
