NATHAN Outlaw and his team at ‘Restaurant Nathan Outlaw’ in Port Isaac are celebrating after being awarded a top score of 10/10 for cooking in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2017.

As a result, the restaurant also rises to number two in the Top 50 Restaurants in the UK.

On hearing of the award, Nathan said: “I’m ecstatic. I can’t believe it. I’m so proud of my head chef, Chris Simpson, and all the team here who put in 110% each and every day.

“Their hard work and dedication means that we can consistently offer our guests the very best dining experience with food that is now deemed worthy of a perfect 10 in this prestigious guide. What’s even more exciting is that I know we can get even better!”

Nathan’s cooking first featured in the Good Food Guide in 2004 and has risen up the rankings each year since then.

Always mindful of where his raw ingredients come from, Nathan added: “In celebrating this achievement, I have to mention my network of producers, all of whom are local to me in Cornwall.

“They are as passionate about what they do as I am, and without them I wouldn’t have the raw materials to use in my cooking.“

Restaurant Nathan Outlaw has been in its current location for 18 months and commands panoramic views over the bay from its vantage point at the top of this historic fishing village.

The restaurant décor is one of elegant simplicity, featuring neutral shades and polished wood while works from local artists are a feature within the restaurant.

As well as the main dining area on the first floor, guests can opt to sit at the kitchen bar allowing them the chance to watch and communicate with the chefs as they cook.

Offering a fish and seafood tasting menu only, Nathan’s style of cooking is one of clean simplicity but with complex layers of flavour.
