LAST year, the Reading Ambassadors at Camelford Primary School devised plans for an outdoor reading area.
Since then, some pupils have given up most of their lunchtimes to help create the centrepiece of the outdoor reading area, the reading hub!
These pupils have worked tirelessly to turn a plain wooden shed into a colourful, inviting base for the outdoor reading area.
They have also created an outdoor reading trail based upon Michael Rosen’s famous book, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.
This year, to celebrate World Book Day, the Reading Ambassadors asked pupils and staff to dress up as characters from woodland settings — especially the characters painted in the Reading Hub.
The staff and pupils had a wonderful day celebrating their love of books through a range of activities.
Catharine Little, owner of the Magpie’s Nest in Camelford, visited the school to share some beautiful, old books with the children — some real treasures!
The children are looking forward to the official launch of the reading area next term.
