THE Reception children at St Breward Primary School went on a festive visit to Cedar Croft Nurseries near Bodmin on Wednesday, November 8.
The children are learning all about winter festivals, and they decided to visit the Christmas Tree Wonderland at Cedar Croft to enhance their learning further.
Class teacher, Kate-Jane Goodman, said: “It was a wonderful experience for the children. They were able to see, smell and touch real life Christmas trees. They also learned all about different types of Christmas trees, and their life cycle.”
The children then went on a magical Christmas Tree Wonderland walk with Mark, the founder of Cedar Croft Nurseries.
The children were surrounded by beautiful, fresh-smelling Christmas trees. They learned all about how the trees grow from a tiny sapling, to a large and festive-looking tree. The children then went on a hunt for different types of Christmas trees, and they looked at the differences between them.
After the tour, Mark very generously donated the school their very own Cedar Croft Christmas tree! The children were given a special piece of ribbon, and carefully chose and reserved the tree.
Miss Goodman added: “The children are delighted to have a real Christmas tree in our school.
“They are so excited and are looking forward to decorating it! We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Cedar Croft Nurseries for making our visit so special. It will definitely be an experience that the children will not forget!”
